Adejare Omiyale Kayode Adejare, chairman Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in this interview, tells SEYE OLUMIDE how his administration has fared in the last four years and likely areas of improvement. How are you coping with influx of commercial motorcycle operators, and how do you identify them? By the time Lagos State government came up with the policy to ban commercial motorcycles operators, we went all out to enforce the policy to the last order because Yaba LCDA is one of the areas where the use of keke NAPEP and commercial motorcycle were totally banned and we followed it. Although the #EndSARS crisis made the government to relax the policy a bit but notwithstanding as at today, we don’t allow commercial motorcycle operators along our major routes except on inner roads. I know that the state is seriously working on another policy that will reduce the activities of Keke NAPEP and commercial motorcycles.

The lawmaker representing Mainland Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Moshood Oshun, has called on citizens of the state and especially those from his constituency to take cognisance of their state of health, especially their blood pressure, blood sugar, eye diseases and other common ailments that degenerate into serious health situations.
Speaking during medical outreach he organised for over 1000 residents of Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) recently, Oshun said it is important for people at the grassroots to always know their health status, saying, some of the ailments that caused untimely death could have been treated if detected early through regular health check up.

More than 100 widows were given relief packages to celebrate Christmas in a way to put a smile on the faces of widows living in Yaba local government area of Lagos.
The relief package including rice, beans, spaghetti, groundnut oil, cash gift among others as part of an effort to alleviate poverty.
Giving the relief materials, a non-governmental organisation, Centre for Gender Economic Initiative, CGE Africa, in partnership with Yaba Local Council Development Area, LCDA, disclosed that the relief package included a day meal for widows and their families to celebrate Christmas season.
