Outraged locals are again fed up with disrespectful tourists as another busy holiday season has seen travellers taking nude photos, litter and graffiti at a site managed by Cape York elders.
The tip of Cape York has been shut off to visitors, and Local Elders have called for toilet upgrades in the area, after reports of tourists defecating, littering and leaving graffiti on sacred sites.
Michael Solomon, chairman of the Gudang/Yadhaykenu Aboriginal Corporation, says it s insulting that locals and volunteers have to clean up the mess left by tourists visiting Country. They make their own tracks and drive down the beach, they come with quad bikes and pig dogs, he said, adding that tourists had turned the Cape York Tip into a rubbish tip , said Mr Solomon.
