Vanguard News FRSC warns against underage driving in Gombe On The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Gombe State Command, has warned against underage driving in the state. Mr Ibrahim Hassan, the Public Relations Officer of FRSC in the state gave the warning on Saturday while sensitising motorists in Zambuk Community, Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area of the state. Hassan said that FRSC personnel were in the community as part of the command’s mandate to enlighten motorists on safety of lives and safe road-use. Gombe farmers seek training on fish feeds production

By Peter Uwumarogie Dadin-Kowa (Gombe State), Feb. 2, 2021 Some fish farmers in Dadin Kowa-Kwadom, Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area, Gombe State have called on the state government to train them on production of fish feeds. They made the appeal in separate interviews with newsmen on Monday in Dadin Kowa. According to them, the high cost of feeds was making fish farming less profitable as farmers spend more on feed than on any other inputs. Mr Daniel Maji, one of the fish farmers, told NAN that fish feed was the major challenge that farmers in their communities faced, “if we can get cheap feeds that is locally made, it will help a lot.

I made over N3m from fish farming in 2020 – 70-yr-old retiree

By Peter Uwumarogie Dadin-Kowa (Gombe State), Jan. 13, 2021 Mr Ezra Amos, a 70-year-old retiree from Dadin Kowa community of Gombe State said he realised over N3 million from fish farming in 2020. Amos, who spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dadin Kowa, Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area, on Wednesday, said fish farming was paying his bills as a retired civil servant. He said his investment in agriculture was paying him more than when he was in service, adding that he had been in the fishery business since 2012. “In the last four months of 2020, I made N1.4 million from my fish farming. In the first four months, I made N750, 000, while in the four months in between, I made N850, 000.’’
