The Kano State Police Command has declared 13 suspected thugs wanted for re-emergece of thuggery activities in some parts of Dala, Gwale and Kano Municipal

A suspected phone robber has been knocked down by a moving car along the popular Zoo Road in Kano metropolis on Sunday night.

The police allegedly shot sporadically to disperse a violent confrontations involving rival gangs (Yan Daba) in the Kurna Asabe area.

The police said the officer fired without being ordered to do so.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gumel, says the command arrested 1,000 suspected criminals in the State in the last 100 days.

Operatives of Kano Police Command arrest 92 suspects, recover guns in raids on dens of notorious criminals across the state in two weeks.

The Police Command in Kano State said it had arrested 96 suspected criminals in different parts of the state. The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Usaini-Gumel, made stated this while addressing newsmen on Wednesday in Kano. Usaini-Gumel said the suspects were arrested in order to pave way for a hitch-free transition in the state.
