CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - Two former members of the communist terrorist group (CTG) in Central Luzon have surrendered to authorities and pledged allegiance to the government, a police official reported on Monday. Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen, director of Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3), identified the two as alias "Ka Tito" and "Ka Tibbey," who voluntarily submitted themselves to joint military and police troops in Aurora province and Olongapo City, respectively, over the weekend. In a report, Pasiwen said Ka Tito, a former member of an Underground Mass Organization (UGMO) affiliated with the National Democratic Front, also yielded one homemade/improvised shotgun with two live ammunition and two rifle grenades. On the other hand, Ka Tibbey, a former CTG member under Yunit Paniktik of Komiteng Larangan Gerilya Tarlac-Zambales (KLG TAR-ZAM), turned in a hand grenade, one .38-caliber revolver with no serial number and five live ammunition.
