RICHMOND, Va. Slow-moving storms that have produced torrential downpours have prompted a Flash Flood Warning for Richmond as well as Chesterfield and Hanover counties until 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Va. Emergency Official: Power could be out at least 24 to 48 hours
Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) officials have urged everyone to prepare for the possibility of extended power outages during and after Saturday forecasted ice storm. VDEM employees met with localities and the National Weather Service (NWS) on Friday to prepare for the icing event, according to Deputy Director of Communications Jason Elmore.

RICHMOND, Va. A winter weather advisory is in effect for much of the Piedmont and Tidewater, as a combination of ice and snow will move into the area Thursday night through Friday morning.
Expect a light rain and drizzle Thursday morning through midday, with more precipitation arriving in central Virginia by mid to late afternoon.
Snow will initially melt on contact Thursday afternoon and early evening but will accumulate late today into early Friday, with 1-3 possible by the time the event ends Friday morning.
