2016. Today, cedar rapids took the first steps toward restoring its network of roads across the cedar river. River. Crews began removing hesco barriers from the downtown bridges. They hope to open all bridges, with the exception of 16th avenue, tomorrow at noon so local traffic can move in and clean up. Everyone can use the bridges beginning saturday morning. All downtown bridges are expected to reopen to all traffic tomorrow morning. Authorities in linn county are still trying to figure out information shows 35 buildings inspected in cedar rapids yesterday werent impacted in any way. Two had some structure issues but can be fixed quickly. 10 buildings could take around a month to fix back up. Inspectors were not able to get into five buildings in cedar rapids.
