LITTLE ROCK – El Dorado rallied from a 21-0 halftime deficit and beat Little Rock Catholic 22-21 Friday at War Memorial Stadium. The Wildcats improved to 5-4 on the season and earned a berth in the 6A State Playoffs. The Rockets fell to 6-3.
El Dorado’s Jervalen Junior recovered a fumble to stop West Memphis’ opening possession of the game. Two plays later, the Blue Devils took the ball right back after recovering a fumble by the Wildcats.
Missed opportunities proved to be the difference Friday as West Memphis rolled up a 43-10 win at Memorial Stadium, dropping the Wildcats to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in 6A East action. The Blue Devils improved to 5-1, 5-0.
West Memphis’ 21-14 home win over Little Rock Catholic last week might’ve raised a few eyebrows. El Dorado coach Chris Hill said he wasn’t surprised, however.
SEARCY - El Dorado erased a three-touchdown deficit to tie the game in the fourth quarter. But Searcy scored twice in the final five minutes Friday and held off the Wildcats 47-35 in 6A East action. The Lions improved to 4-1, 3-1 with El Dorado falling to 2-3, 1-3.
