Tears of joy : Guam starts COVID-19 vaccinations

Nurse Zennia Pecina cried Thursday morning after she was one of the first people on Guam to receive Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine at a temporary government clinic at Okkodo High School.
“Tears of joy,” said Pecina, who is an administrator for the Department of Public Health and Social Services. “I want normal. . I want to be able to hug my children and my mom and not have to worry about bringing anything home as a frontliner.”
Pecina, Public Health Director Arthur San Agustin and Dr. Robert Leon Guerrero, a pediatrician, received their vaccinations simultaneously in the school cafeteria, kicking off the three-day clinic and taking the first step to protect the island from COVID-19.
