In response to the recent security breach at the Parliament complex, the government has decided to entrust the "comprehensive" security of the complex to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The CISF, a central armed police force, currently guards various central government ministry buildings in Delhi, airports, and other critical installations.

The Winter Session of the Lok Sabha adjourned ahead of schedule with 74% productivity, according to Speaker Om Birla. The session featured 14 sittings, with the passage of 18 bills, including those to replace the IPC, CrPC, and the Indian Evidence Act. The Central Goods and Services Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2023, and the Telecommunications Bill, 2023, were among the bills passed.

Security within the complex will continue to be the responsibility of the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

In a fresh development, the Delhi Police has detained two more people for questioning in connection with the security breach in Parliament. One of them is identified as Sai Krishna, a techie and son of retired Deputy Superintendent of Police from Karnataka's Bagalkote

The Delhi Police today produced the four arrested accused before the court on expiry of their seven-day police custody. The accused- Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Amol Dhanraj Shinde and Neelam Devi - were produced before Special Judge Hardeep Kaur.

Birla in his concluding remarks said that the House held 14 sittings and worked for 61 hours and 50 minutes

MPs watch and ward security will also be sent in batches to train for human and goods frisking at a CISF centre, they said.

The suspects arrested in Parliament security breach case are identified as Saikrishna Jagali, a software engineer from Bagalkote in Karnataka, and Atul Kulshrestha, a Leftist activist from Orai in Uttar Pradesh.
