ZHUJI, China, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 38 to lead the Sichuan Blue Whales to beat the Jilin Northeast Tigers 119-111 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Friday, being closer to the playoffs.
Hunt also added 11 rebounds and six assists for Sichuan, while Han Shuo contributed 22 points and five rebounds. Hamed Haddadi pocketed 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while Yuan Zhenliang got 11 points and nine rebounds.
Sichuan opened the game with a 7-0 run before Jilin bounced back in the first quarter. However, Sichuan overtook the lead and widened the gap to double digits, thanks to the outstanding performance of two foreign players. Although Jilin tried their best to narrow the gap to two points, Hunt helped Sichuan keep the advantage with free throws.
