A longtime fixture at the Honolulu Zoo died Tuesday. Zoo officials say they euthanized Corky, a 35-year-old male rhinoceros that had lived at the facility since 1999.
The Honolulu Zoo's only male lion Ekundu, who also had an underlying health condition, tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and died last week, the zoo announced. The zoo's director said safety measures have been taken and the zoo is working to secure vaccinations for the animals.
