KARACHI: Pakistan is hoping to benefit from Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative — the ambitious economic reform program expected to create millions of jobs in the Kingdom — by building its workforce’s professional skills, a top Pakistani official told Arab News on Tuesday.
“I have already directed my ministry to identify the economic sectors at the heart of the Saudi initiative along with the skillsets required to capture the greatest number of emerging employment opportunities,” Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari, special adviser to the prime minister on overseas Pakistanis, told Arab News.
The Vision 2030 program was launched by the Kingdom to reduce its dependence on oil by diversifying the economy and turning the country into a global industrial hub.

"The PDM's failure has deeply saddened Maryam Nawaz. She is in a state of psychological confusion,as evident from her statement that 'the government's days are numbered'. She likes to get mental satisfaction by making such assumptions," Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfi Bukhari said in a statement.

JHELUM: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Sunday the government was making all out efforts to promote tourism which would generate employment opportunities to the youths, as Pakistan is bestowed with abundant natural resources—including sea, high mountains, salt ranges and historical sites.
“The preservation and protection of our historical sites and national heritage is also essential to keep the coming generations informed about history,” Khan said after inaugurating the heritage trail at the al-Biruni point in Baghan Wala village at the Nandana Fort, District Jhelum.
The project was undertaken as part of the Prime Minister’s vision for the promotion of tourism and in line with the National Tourism Strategy 2020-30. Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, Special Assistant to PM Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar and senior officers were also present on the occasion.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was on Thursday informed that with 82,728 Roshan Digital Accounts opened so far in 97 countries of different continents by the overseas Pakistanis, an amount of $436 million had been remitted and paid under the facility.
He was further informed that as 600 to 700 accounts were being opened on a daily basis, Pakistani expatriates were remitting around $6 to $7 million per day.
The prime minister was presiding over a meeting to review progress on the provision of facilities made available for the overseas Pakistanis under the Roshan Digital Account.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that Pakistan offered ample investment opportunities in diverse sectors and the government will extend all possible facilities to foreign investors.
The government, in order to facilitate foreign investment companies, is also taking various measures under one-window operation and the policy of ease of doing business, the prime minister said during a meeting with a delegation of the Dhabi Group which had called on him.
On the occasion, the premier said that Pakistan also had ample opportunities for investment in the tourism sector.
