Subscriber only Collingwood has reacted as its cheer squad icon Jeffrey Joffa Corfe faces child sex charges over the alleged sexual assault of a Melbourne teen more than a decade ago. Collingwood condemns without qualification inappropriate conduct of any kind but cannot, and will not, comment on matters before the courts, the football club said in a statement.

The Fawkner Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives launched an investigation into the historical sex offences last year.
Mr Corfe has been bailed to face the Melbourne Magistrates Court July 30. Collingwood condemns without qualification inappropriate conduct of any kind but cannot, and will not, comment on matters before the courts, it read.
