Updated: 2:05 PM EDT Apr 30, 2021 A Baptist preacher has resigned from the pulpit after being charged in child pornography investigation.First Baptist Church in Stanleyville in North Carolina announced Friday that T. Elliott Welch, 34, quit his job as the lead pastor after he was arrested by the Forsyth County Sheriff s Office on accusations of child pornography and exploitation.Investigators with the sheriff s office said they received a tip that Welch was uploading child pornography to the internet. A search warrant was served at Welch s home in the 7000 block of Stonewell Lane in Tobaccoville. Bill Rhue, of the church personnel committee, shared the statement below: We are shocked and saddened by the criminal charges brought against T. Elliott Welch, the senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Stanleyville. We in no way condone the behavior for which Pastor Welch has been accused. Forsyth County, North Carolina (WLOS) The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office arrested minister T Elliot Welch, 34, on charges of uploading child pornography to the internet.
Welch has been charged with 2nd Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, which is committed when a person knowingly records, photographs, films, develops, duplicates, distributes, transports, exhibits, receives, sells, purchases, exchanges or solicits material that shows a minor engaging in sexual activity.
Welch is the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. He is being held at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center with a bond secured at $50,000.00. His court date is May 13th.

Show Transcript one person is now charged in a drive by shooting that injured a four year old boy in the city of Winston Salem. A juvenile suspect is also expected to face charges in this case, and investigators say 19 year old Thomas Ramsey drove the vehicle through the Cleveland Avenue Homes complex, and the juvenile is actually the one who fired that bullet. A bullet grazed a fire. That gun, rather than that bullet, grazed a four year old boy. He is expected to be okay. Ford Hatchet spoke with neighbors who heard and saw the shooting.
