There was a point in the fifth episode of
WandaVision, the Disney+ show of many shows that sadly has very little to show for itself, where its true reason for existence becomes clear. The star, Wanda Maximoff – a “witch” from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), played by Elizabeth Olsen – answers the door of her sitcom house and is greatly surprised to find her brother before her, Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver (he’s quick). Her shock is partly due to a) the fact he died in
Avengers: Age Of Ultron, a mere 117 minutes into his MCU debut, but also b) he was now being played by a different actor. Not Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but Evan Peters, who portrayed the character in the
It’s nobody’s fault that
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier to the post. Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes’s (Sebastian Stan) all-action outing was meant to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first Disney+ series before pandemic delays put the reality-bending sitcom-thriller first – and when Wanda Maximoff’s journey through a lifetime of grief debuted, it hooked viewers with its tightly-scripted mysteries, franchise-best lead performances, and potent emotional core.
Falcon And Winter Soldier arrived shortly after with very different aims – but while its dizzying aerial action sequence displayed blockbuster credentials, there was an inescapable sense right from the opening episode that the show as a whole wasn’t quite clicking.
I went into this episode with very low expectations. Despite the fact that
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is probably my favorite movie or maybe because of that fact I felt like the show was doing
a lot and didn’t seem to know how to hold it together, while also taking its time for a show that only has 6 episodes. It’s also tricky because the series feels more like a movie, but that makes its missteps, like Karli’s characterization and even Sharon’s reintroduction, more glaring.
TFTWS does best when it follows the excellent pace of
CA: TWS, especially when it gathers all the characters together with balletic grace rather than just for hitting plot points. But the stumble in the middle of the series really confused me.

Sebastian Stansâs new movie
Monday is a steamy rom-com that features him alongside Denise Gough as two strangers who meet on a fateful night in Greece. Outside of
The Falcon And Winter The Soldier and dealing with fans reciting Buckyâs trigger words to him in public, Stan has been busy getting fully nude for his role in
Monday and talking about his favorite rom coms that influenced the movie. Recently Sebastian Stan and co-star Denise Gough reveal the catchphrase they used to joke about filming naked in Greece so much for
Monday.
Pulling off nudity in movies is tricky. There are probably many factors and peopleâs comfort levels that have to be taken into consideration for friendly and safe nude scenes.
