Mar 11, 2021 04:18:16 PM A case of corruption against a staff of the Nausori Town Council has been referred to Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption. The staff member has been sacked for allowing illegal stalls to set up along the Nausori corridor and was pocketing $1000 once a month. Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar in an interview said the staff was terminated two weeks ago after a complaint was received. Kumar said municipal council workers have been making extra money by allowing illegal stalls to set up along the Nausori-Suva corridor. She said they continue to receive corruption cases pertaining to the municipal councils on a regular basis.
