This was the question posed yesterday by the CSO Alliance for COVID-19 Humanitarian Response. In a statement, Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre co-ordinator Shamima Ali said the people of Fiji were grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic and a deadly variant that was causing death, destruction, mayhem and permanently ruining livelihoods and families in many parts of the world, especially India. She said in times of a national crisis, the expected behaviour of the head of Government, with his ministers, was for them to front up to the people and be there for them in an empathic and humane way.
