Art exhibition to represent a vision of what K-12 education should be

Leominster Champion GARDNER Mount Wachusett Community College is putting out the call for students and parents in North Central Massachusetts to submit original artwork for a virtual exhibit to be held through the Fitchburg Art Museum in March. The exhibit, called “Portrait of a Graduate in North Central Mass.,” is looking for submissions which represent the students’ vision for what the future of school should look like for all students. Using the medium and materials of their choice, artists can choose from one of four prompts: 1. What should the new normal for school be post-pandemic? 2. What ingredients does a perfect school need for students to be successful after they graduate?

IC Federal Credit Union picks UMass hospital exec as new CEO

IC Federal Credit Union in Fitchburg has named Chris Hendry, former senior director of external affairs for UMass Memorial Health Alliance-Clinton, as its new president and CEO, the credit union’s board of directors announced Tuesday. Hendry has served on IC’s board of directors and supervisory committee since 2014, according to the announcement.  Hendry, who holds an MBA from Fitchburg State University, has served on a variety of local boards, including Fitchburg nonprofits NewVue Communities, Arc of Opportunity and the Fitchburg Art Museum. Outgoing interim president and CEO Philip Richards, who came out of retirement after previous CEO and president Tony Emerson gave the credit union notice of his departure, will stay on temporarily to ease the leadership transition.
