Madison man killed in early-morning Fitchburg crash identified

MADISON, Wis. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office is identifying the man killed in a crash along Highway MM in Fitchburg earlier this week.
25-year-old Omar Miranda Adame of Madison died after being thrown from his car after hitting a utility pole and rolling over between Irish Lane and Haight Farm Road around 4:45 a.m. Monday.
Adame was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office confirmed Thursday he died of injuries sustained in the crash.

Two injured in rollover crash on Highway 14; lane closures expected through rush hour

FITCHBURG, Wis. A rollover crash on Highway 14 near Irish Lane injured two people and is expected to cause lane closures through Thursday afternoon rush hour, according to the Fitchburg Police Department.
Authorities said the crash happened around 1 p.m. The two occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash.
According to a Facebook post from the department, a critical piece of guardrail at the scene was damaged in the crash. Highway 14 between Lacy Road and County Highway MM was closed while crews worked to repair the guardrail and clear debris from the crash.
Vehicle hit by gunfire Tuesday night in Fitchburg, police say

FITCHBURG, Wisc. The Fitchburg Police Department is investigating after a vehicle was hit by gunfire Tuesday night.
According to Sergeant Michael Buri, officers responded to a report of shots fired around 11:20 p.m. near the 2800 block of Oregon Road.
Officers found a vehicle hit by gunfire and nine shell casings nearby.
No injuries were reported.

Pedestrian hit by car while crossing Fish Hatchery Road

FITCHBURG, Wis. Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Fitchburg on Tuesday night.
Officials were sent to the intersection of Fish Hatchery and Post roads for a report of a car vs. pedestrian accident shortly before 8:30 p.m.
A news release said officers arrived and found EMS tending to an injured man. Police learned he was hit while crossing Fish Hatchery Road just north of Post Road.
The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Officials said the driver involved in the accident stayed at the scene and was cooperative with officials.
