County officials have said they’re hands are often tied by the state. Speaking were Dr. Tamara Dunlap of Amsterdam, an area dentist who created the Quarantine the Quarantine Facebook group, and Kristen Baker of Johnstown.

May 7, 2021 MAYFIELD The Fulton County Health Department is alerting residents of a potential COVID-19 exposure at the United Methodist Church Garage Sale, 20 N. Main St, on the following date: Saturday, May 1, between 9 to 11 a.m. The quarantine end date is May 11. If you have been affected by the exposure monitor yourself for symptoms up to 10 days after the time of exposure. Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or a runny nose, nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea. If symptoms occur, contact your primary care provider for further guidance on testing. If you are a high-risk individual, contact your doctor even if symptoms are mild. manich@leaderherald.com JOHNSTOWN The number of persons getting weekly COVID-19 vaccinations at Fulton-Montgomery Community College is subsiding, but county officials are encouraging more use of pharmacies. Numbers of active COVID cases in Fulton County is also declining. A COVID update was provided by county Health Director Laurel Headwell to the Board of Supervisors’ Human Services Committee recently at the County Office Building. Headwell said that to date, Fulton County has had 17,565 people receiving one COVID vaccination; and 13,446 receiving their second shot. “We are slowing down,” she said of the Thursday’s weekly vaccination POD, or Point of Delivery activity at FMCC.
