STOCKBRIDGE â Former Clayton County Chief Magistrate Judge Wanda L. Dallas has joined the law firm of Meadows, Macie & Sutton in Stockbridge as âof counselâ. Her work with the firm will be a general legal practice with an emphasis on criminal defense.
Prior to joining the firm, Dallas served as chief magistrate judge of Clayton County for seven years hearing thousands of cases and overseeing the operations of the court.
As a courtroom litigator, Dallas tried more than 80 jury trials in her time as both an assistant solicitor for the city of Atlanta Municipal Court, as well as a senior assistant district attorney for the Fulton County District Attorneyâs office. Dallas also gained extensive experience addressing employment issues while working with the Fulton County Sheriffâs Office as itsâ Labor Relations manager. She also previously served as an associate judge of the Fulton County Juvenile Court and as chief judge of the Riverdale Municipal Court.
Arkansas’ newest medical marijuana dispensary is set to open Friday in Northern Arkansas in eastern Fulton County.
KAIT reports Spring River Dispensary’s manager Sonja Kaselaan says the response from the community has been overwhelming.

The dispensary held a preregistration event for two days, where nearly 300 people signed up to get in the building quicker on opening day. The preregistration included patients providing copies of medical cards and other necessary personal information.
Areawide Media reported earlier Spring River Dispensary is located on U.S. Highway 63, just a few hundred feet from the Hardy city limits, which is primarily a Sharp County city. However, the property where the dispensary was built is in Fulton County.

ATLANTA The DeKalb County Police Department is mourning the death of one of their veteran officers after an early morning incident claimed his life.
Twenty-two-year veteran Sgt. Daniel Mobley was struck while on the scene of a wreck that involved another DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD) officer on Saturday at 9 a.m. on I-75/85 southbound near Williams Street.

As the city of Atlanta hosted a news conference to address its 154th homicide of the year, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said she takes the issue of crime âvery seriously.â
