Today’s obituaries: Tom Weatherup helped build Central Square into the community it is today

Thomas S. “Tom” Weatherup, 91, of Central Square, died Wednesday.
He was a life resident of Central Square and a graduate of Central Square high school. He attended Clarkson University and served in the US Navy Construction Battalion (Seabees), according to his obituary.
He was an entrepreneur who developed residential housing communities including North Country Heights, Irish Hills, Green Acres Apartments, Country Garden Apartments, Senior Living Community Summerhill Village and Watertower Landing.

FULTON â Melissa Keller, CPA, has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer, it was announced by Michael Pollock, Fulton Savings Bank president and CEO.
âMelissa has continued to accept added responsibilities and has exhibited exemplary leadership, managerial and problem-solving skills,â Pollock said. âHer efforts have played an integral role in Fulton Savings Bankâs success.â
Keller, who previously served as senior vice president/chief information security officer, joined the bank in 2017 as vice president/controller. She is a certified public accountant with extensive experience in accounting, finance, auditing and cybersecurity. She holds a bachelorâs degree in accounting from Columbia College and holds a certificate in cybersecurity from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Prior to joining FSB, she was a senior audit manager at Dermody, Burke & Brown.
FULTON â The 10th annual Family Fun Snow Day was held at CNY Arts Center in downtown Fulton with the opening of the new Cinema Arts Theatre. In lieu of the traditional carnival games and prizes, the Arts Center launched the brand new movie projection system with showings of the movie by the same name, Snow Day.
âWe had such a good time all day presenting the movie every two hours, giving away prizes and grab bags to the families, and serving popcorn and candy in the snack bar,â said Executive Director Nancy Fox. âWe are excited to have this new asset in the community to bring people together, safely, for an affordable entertainment we havenât had in Fulton for decades.â
