Developer seeks to build sub- division next to Mueller s Orchard | News for Fenton, Linden, Holly MI

A developer is hoping to build a subdivision behind Mueller’s Orchard in Fenton Township with streets connected to Linden and Lobdell roads.  The Fenton Township Planning Commission tabled the application March 11, which included a request for preliminary site plan approval and a rezoning for a potential 142-unit development south of the Byram Ridge development. Due in part to density issues, applicant Lombardo Homes was advised to revise and resubmit plans, and the company hopes to be on the agenda again in April or May.  Lyle Winn, development compliance manager at Lombardo Homes, said the reason they chose Fenton Township is because they had an opportunity to buy the property from the previous owner.

Summer camp fun is back

After a very challenging year for so many kids and their families, the YMCA of Greater Flint is excited to announce the return of summer camp fun to YMCA Camp Copneconic in 2021, with registration for day and overnight camps now open.  Uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, along with state-mandated stay-at-home orders, caused the 750-acre camp located in Fenton Township to cancel all summer programming in 2020.  “We were heartbroken to cancel summer camps last year but knew that it was the best decision for the health and safety of campers, their families and our team members,” said Brandon Dreffs, executive director of YMCA Camp Copenconic. “Our amazing staff has been busy reviewing and implementing new safety protocols designed to keep everyone protected, and we are confident that we can offer a safe, equitable and transformational summer camp program once again.”
