FERNDALE, Wash. By now, most parents of school-age children have heard the news from Olympia regarding COVID-related guidance for this fall.
With the help of the Whatcom County Health Department, the Ferndale School District is working to interpret the state’s latest guidance.
The district will continue to follow the state’s rules and will post more detailed school procedures on the district website once they are developed.
More information on what this fall will look like and the reasoning behind some of the district’s decisions will be presented during a Facebook Live discussion August 12 at 4pm.

FERNDALE, Wash. Leadership at the Ferndale School District will look different next year.
After 12 years in the position, the district’s superintendent, Dr. Linda Quinn, has announced her plans to retire in summer 2021.
Quinn’s first steps in the education field were taken at Puyallup High School in 1974 where she taught English.
The School Board will hold a meeting March 9 to decide the next steps in the process of finding a replacement.
Quinn says she will miss working for the district, but she looks forward to spending more time with her family.
