In-person learning resumes for FCPS students in grades 3 through 5

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â After nearly a year of remote learning, third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students had the opportunity to return to in-person learning in the Fayette County Public Schools district Wednesday morning.
According to FCPS, 7,000 kindergarten through second-grade students went back to school in-person on Feb. 22. As of Wednesday morning, two staff members and eight students tested positive for COVID-19. The district says possible exposure led to 10 staff members, one of which was a transportation worker, and 128 students went into quarantine.

In total, eight FCPS classrooms have been quarantined. One of those classrooms was at Liberty Elementary School in Hamburg.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â This past Monday, kindergarteners, first-graders and second-graders in Fayette County School District were given the opportunity to return to in-person learning.
Shortly after, officials released a list of when other graders will be able to return to their buildings.
Starting on March 3, grades 3-5 will return followed by grades 6,9, and 12 on March 8. Lastly on March 15, 7-11 grades will return.
This doesn t include kids who are part of some special programs.
Students who attend Eastside Technical, Locust Trace AgriScience, and Southside Technical centers will report to their home high schools for the entire day.
