Tynia Trembow Richardson

Tynia Trembow Richardson, age 79, of Orrtanna, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021, at Genesis Gettysburg Center. Born July 21, 1941. in Vinnytsya, Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late Apollon Trembow and Irene Trembow Liwaj. Her family survived World War II and arrived in America in 1949. Tynia was a 1960 graduate of Fairfield High School, where she participated in many activities. She worked at Fairfield High School as an instructional assistant and retired after 27 years of service. She was instrumental in starting the Fairfield PTA. She also thoroughly enjoyed tutoring children who came to her in various subjects. Tynia was a member of the Orrtanna United Methodist Church, where she served as assistant Sunday school superintendent for many years, in addition to teaching Sunday school and Bible school. She was always active in helping with all church functions.

The Generals came into Tuesday night at 5-0 and fresh off of a 29 point win against Maysville Monday night. Tuesday, the Lady Generals welcomed an undefeated Fairfield Union team to Glen Hursey Gymnasium in Thornville. So who left the gym with their perfect record intact? Sheridan ended the first quarter leading 9-8, then extending their lead to 25-13 at the half.

James A. “Jim” Larmer, 78, of Fairfield, died Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 29, 2020 at his home in Fairfield. Born Dec. 15, 1942 in Whitesburg, Tenn. he was the son of the late Andrew and Ella (Mayo) Larmer. Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam. After the service, he went to college in California and traveled the country setting up heart machine in hospitals and teaching the staff how to operate them. He then came to Adams County and worked for a time for Larmer Construction. He was very active in Little League baseball and coached in the Fairfield area for 20 years as well as in Denver, Colo. when he was stationed there. He loved gardening and was generous in giving away the vegetables he grew.
