Police: Bridgeport man tried to sell gun in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD Police have arrested a Bridgeport man charged with attempting to sell an illegal firearm in town.
Marcos Herrera was charged with conspiracy to the illegal sale of a firearm Nov. 24 on a warrant, Fairfield Police said in a news release. The 20-year-old also was charged with sale of marijuana and illegal possession of marijuana
Police said they “received information” in October of last year that Herrara was selling marijuana.
“The investigation revealed that Herrera sold marijuana within Fairfield on several occasions and attempted to sell a firearm. This investigation was a culmination of surveillance efforts and search warrants,” the release said.
