It s official: Ford s first electric truck will be called the F-150 Lightning. It will debut on May 19, reviving the Lightning nameplate for the first time since the high-performance F-150 SVT Lightning ended production way back in 2004. This will be Ford s second fully electric vehicle after the Mustang Mach-E, but it won t be its last. By 2022, Ford will launch seven new EVs, and Ford s CEO Jim Farley has hinted that one of them could be an electric version of the Bronco.
On Twitter, an angry user challenged Ford s commitments to zero-emissions vehicles, asking why don t we have an EV option on new products like the Bronco? In response, Farley simply said: Why do you think we don t?
3 Ford SUVs Make US News’ List of Most Fuel-Efficient Hybrids

The 2021 Ford lineup is strong with fuel-efficient SUVs. The Ford Explorer Hybrid, Ford Escape Hybrid, and Ford Escape PHEV made the U.S. News and World Report list of the 12 Most Fuel-Efficient Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid SUVs for 2021. The Ford Escape PHEV topped the list, earning the number one spot with its 102 MPGe range.

Although not available yet (but hopefully soon), the 2021 Ford Escape PHEV is worth the wait, especially if your driving goal is to be as fuel-efficient as possible.
“The Escape PHEV has an all-electric range of 37 miles, and it’s highly efficient whether you’re using gas or electric power,” reports U.S. News & World Report writer Steven Loveday. “With almost 40 miles of all-electric range on tap, many drivers won’t have to fill up the gas tank very often.”
