PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/ANN): The General Department of Customs and Excise’s (GDCE) revenue collection plummeted 15.2 per cent to $614.8 million in the first quarter of this year compared to the corresponding period last year.
Last month alone, revenue reached $211.3 million, down by 4.7 per cent from March last year, GDCE figures show.
The largest sources of customs and excise revenue were vehicles and machinery (accounting for 43.5 per cent), petroleum and energy (22.8 per cent), construction materials and miscellaneous fees (6.3 per cent) and other products (27.4 per cent).

PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Two provinces – Kampong Cham and Siem Reap – have announced the extension of the administrative measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 for another 14 days.
This also includes the ban on the sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks.
The Kampong Cham Provincial Administration issued the announcement on April 21 to extend the ban on tourist attractions across the province, as well as places that sell alcoholic drinks.
Provincial governor Un Chanda said the extension is warranted to minimise risks and contain the ongoing community outbreak.

PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Prime Minister Hun Sen will attend an Asean summit in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on April 24, prompting him to reschedule his Covid-19 vaccination with a second dose from April 29 to 20.
In a Facebook post on April 16, the prime minister did not elaborate on the meeting, saying only that it was a task he could not skip as the leader of an Asean member state.
But according to the Jakarta Post, the leaders of the 10-nation bloc are widely expected to discuss the ongoing crisis in Myanmar, which has claimed more than 700 lives since the February military coup.

PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Mao Ayuth, a veteran filmmaker turned secretary of state at the Ministry of Information, has passed away while undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh on Thursday (April 15), according to ministry spokesman Phos Sovann. He was 77 years old. I m not sure about the cause of his death. He passed away at nearly 7 o clock while receiving treatment for Covid-19, Sovann said.
Ayuth, a resident of Boeung Raing commune in Phnom Penh s Daun Penh district, was admitted to the hospital on April 5 after testing positive for Covid-19.
