ANTHONY – Officials confirm the Brigham Young University-Idaho student who jumped off a bridge while swimming with friends near St. Anthony last Thursday is dead. A news release from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office indicates the body of 22-year-old Matthew Rios was located around 1 p.m. Tuesday about a mile downstream from the Fun Farm Bridge. Crews have been searching the river in boats and along the riverbank since Thursday afternoon when he was first reported missing. High water levels and cold temperatures were an ongoing challenge throughout the five-day search. One of Sheriff Len Humphries biggest concerns was the safety of search and rescue personnel.

UPDATE: Train/truck collision near St. Anthony sends man to hospital Updated at Share This Photo courtesy Logan Yeaman UPDATE 11 p.m. One man is hospitalized after getting hit by an oncoming train south of St. Anthony on Thursday evening. The collision occurred at 5:47 p.m. on East 400 North near 2300 East, according to a news release from Idaho State Police. Steven Jenson, 25, of St. Anthony was driving westbound on East 400 North in a 1995 International semi-truck. A train was headed toward the intersection and for an unknown reason, he didn’t stop. The train hit him on the passenger side and his truck burst into flames.
