Indianapolis police have arrested a man in Floyd County in connection to a homicide reported Saturday night on the city s southeast side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, 28-year-old Marco Pacheco-Aleman was taken into custody Sunday for his alleged involvement in the Saturday night slaying of a woman in the 4400 block of Lickridge Court.
Police were called to the apartment complex shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday and found an unidentified woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman,
later identified as 23-year-old Karen Leticia Castro Hernandez, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Floyds Knobs man died Thursday afternoon in a fatal off-road vehicle crash in Floyd County, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
Indiana conservation officers and the Floyd County Sheriff s Department responded shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday to the reported off-road vehicle crash in the 4400 block of Skyline Drive in Floyds Knobs, according to a state DNR news release.
Officers found Thomas Sonne, 69, unresponsive in the road under an overturned off-road vehicle, per the news release, and Sonne was pronounced dead at the scene by the Floyd County Coroner s Office.
A preliminary investigation found the off-road vehicle struck a guardrail, overturned and ejected Sonne, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, according to authorities.
