Seven stalwart trotters went to post Friday in a Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association Trot at Scioto Downs, and when the judges posted the official sign Alesha Binkley emerged victorious after she reined Wittyville to a gate to wire triumph in 1:57.4.
Despite starting from the six-hole Binkley sent the son of Manofmanymissions to the lead when the gate sprung and she led her competition by that standard in :29.1. Despite Roundtown Rocker ( Peter Stratton) being parked the talented lady driver of her charge by the half in :59.2.
After Wittyville put Stratton s trotter away Binkley braced for challenges from Backdoor Man (Floyd Rhodes) and Just Joe (Naquel Harvey). However Wittyville was up to the challenges and the veteran trotter proved too hard to overcome and he drew off to a two-length lead which he carried all the way to the wire.

Palm Desert based Mama s House provides women in crisis pregnancies with a safe place to call home. The nonprofit is looking to bring on a director of development.
Floyd Rhoades, from the Board of Directors, said it s a tipping point for Mama s house in many respects. He said that now we re going to catapult to quadruple the size of the operation. And it s going to take some significant support financial support to get that done.
Mama s House said that they are looking for someone with experience, who is a self starter, and a good communicator. Rhoades said we would like to find somebody that first of all knows the valley because this is a unique place and somebody coming in from somewhere else, it s a different way to approach things.

With Larry Ferrari at the controls on Saturday (May 22), they stopped the clock at 1:56.1 for the veteran trotter s fourth win in his last six starts.
Understandably sent as the favourite from post 2 in the nine-horse field, Ferrari wasted little time sending George to the lead from the two-hole when the starter said “go” and they reached the first stanza in :28.3. When Floyd Rhodes moved Back Door Man off the pylons to challenge for the lead, the two trotters raced side-by-side past the half in :59, and they were noses apart when they trotted by the three quarters in 1:28.

Richard “Dick” Rhodes, 79, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
Funeral services for Dick will take place on Friday, April 16 at 11:30 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Dick will be laid to rest following the service at Sheridan Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
