Sedalia Police Reports For May 6, 2021

Early Thursday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of East 13th Street and South New York Avenue. The single occupant driver got out of the vehicle and ran from Officers. The license plates were seized from the vehicle.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Smart Style Salon inside the Wal Mart Store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard Wednesday evening. The suspect slid under the gate in order to retrieve his sister s wallet that was left inside the salon after it closed. There was damage to the wall where the lock inserts. Raul R. Lopez, 17, of Sedalia, was arrested and released on summons for Destruction of Non City Property.
Independence Man Threatens To Shoot Police At CVS
Sedalia Police responded to the CVS Pharmacy, 100 East Broadway Boulevard Wednesday afternoon to assist with a subject check.
Officers made contact with the suspect, who refused to leave the property. When Officers contacted the suspect to ask him to leave, he became belligerent. During the incident, the suspect began yelling racial slurs, and threatening to shoot Officers.
Jonathan M. Roste, 32, of Independence, was taken into custody without further incident. Roste was transported the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold. Charges of 1st Degree Trespassing and 4th Degree Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer were sought against Roste.
