Rutland Police act to stop oversized HGVs cutting through Clipsham Published: 12:00, 11 February 2021
Police are helping villagers in Clipsham to prevent oversized lorries cutting through their village after a rise in accidents and damage.
A 7.5 ton weight limit is in place to stop HGVs using a stretch of road from Castle Bytham to the A1 at Stretton which passes through Clipsham.
However, villagers believe there has been a steady increase in prohibited through traffic.
Walls have been knocked down by errant HGVs while verges and the road itself has also been damaged.

Residents began collecting photographic evidence before Clipsham Parish Meeting contacted Rutland Police and Rutland County Council for help.
