Veteran Congress Leader Dr Bhumidhar Barman Hospitalized, CM Sonowal Assures Support
Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Assam Dr Bhumidhar Barman has been admitted to a private hospital in critical condition.

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on April 9 visited Dispur Hospital in Guwahati to take stock of the health condition of the former chief minister and senior Congress leader Bhumidhar Barman.
The former minister was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday and is under treatment at ICU.
Further Sonowal on his Twitter handle wrote, Visited former Assam CM, Dr Bhumidhar Barman at Dispur Hospital in Guwahati this morning and enquired about his health. I pray for the speedy recovery of the veteran leader and assure all necessary support for his treatment.

Guwahati, April 8 : Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday took his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
After the jab, Sonowal,59, tweeted: Took my first shot of Covid-19 vaccine at GMCH. Vaccines are safe and will help us defeat this pandemic. I urge all eligible persons of the state to get vaccinated and continue following safety precautions.
Most Governors and Chief Ministers of northeastern states have taken the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

Chief Minister Sonowal, while terming the incident which took the life of the CRPF jawan as dastardly, said that the martyred CRPF CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) jawans made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation and left behind a glowing example of patriotism and valour.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal visited the houses of martyred CRPF jawans from Assam Bablu Rabha in Dudhnoi, Goalpara and Dilip Kumar Das in Bajali and paid his tributes to them.
Both the jawans laid down their lives in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh recently.
