BJP MLA Padma Hazarika aims to transform villages under Sootea Constituency into model villages under PM Modi’s Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana’ scheme

Jamugurihat: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Padma Hazarika of Sootea Constituency has made an effort to transform the Morankuri village under Naduar block at Jamugurihat in Sonitpur district of Assam into a model village under Prime Minister Narendra Modi s Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana scheme.
MLA Hazarika aims to transform as many as 19 villages in around 19 Gaon panchayat in the Sootea Constituency into model villages.

Guwahati, Jan 12 : As the ruling BJP kicks off its Assembly poll campaign in Assam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other central leaders would hold a series of election rallies in the northeastern state next week, BJP leader and Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday.
BJP National President J.P. Nadda, who left here on Tuesday for Delhi, addressed a public gathering in southern Assam s Silchar on Monday and claimed that the saffron party has been winning all the elections in the country from Jammu & Kashmir to Telangana, and it would return to power in Assam once again with 100-plus seats in the upcoming state Assembly polls.

Chairing a meeting to discuss the modalities to strengthen supply chain of paddy procurement of the state, CM Sonowal asked Consumer Affairs Department to review the existing system, remove the bottlenecks and give a shape to simpler procedure for the farmers.

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reiterated that his government is committed to Rs. 1868 Minimum Support Price (MSP) of paddy for every quintal to the farmers of the state as the government has been procuring the paddy from the farmers with the same MSP.

Guwahati: With an aim to balance ecology with economy, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said on Friday that the government is planning to create plant-your-own-tree spaces throughout the state. He revealed the news as part of his New Year interaction with journalists yesterday.
Acknowledging the importance of forests and the need for people to grow their own plants , CM Sonowal informed that the government will soon come up with a project that involves identifying lands where people can go and plant a tree on their birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions. The practice of planting a sapling and then taking period care of it could prove to be quite relevant and useful to the people of the state, he added.

Ms Neog and Mr Gowala had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Guwahati on Saturday to finalise their joining. Soon after, Ms Neog had announced that she will be joining the BJP in the next couple of days.
