Azerbaijani gymnasts win set of awards at Trampoline Hopes Cup tournament

17 Apr in 10:00 The results of the international trampoline jumping tournament Trampoline Hopes Cup, which took place on April 5-12 in the online format, have been summed up, Trend reports citing Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation. Azerbaijan was represented at the online tournament by Ammar Bakhshaliyev in the age category of 11–12 years, Magsud Makhsudov and Huseyn Abbasov in the age category of 13–14, and Seljan Makhsudova in the adult age category. Promising Azerbaijani gymnasts won a full set of awards at the tournament, in which more than 300 athletes from 20 countries took part. Ammar Bakhshaliyev took first place among athletes aged 11-12, and Magsud Makhsudov and Huseyn Abbasov took first and second places, respectively, in the age category of 13-14 years.

Baku to host international gymnastics competitions

14 Apr in 11:40 The National Gymnastics Arena in Baku prepares to host international competitions again after a one-year break, according to Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation. The holding of the competitions, postponed in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic and scheduled for May of this year, was authorized by the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, taking into account the importance of these events. The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, which is a license for the Tokyo Olympic Games, will be held in Baku on May 7-9, the Aerobic Gymnastics World Age Group Competitions will be held on May 21-23, and the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championship will be held on May 27-29, 2021.

New coach for Women s Artistic Gymnastics national team appointed in Azerbaijan

21 Jan in 16:40 Belarusian expert Olga Barkalava has been appointed as the new Head Coach of the Azerbaijani Women s Artistic Gymnastics National Team, according to the website of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF). Thus, Barkalava has been coaching in Women s Artistic Gymnastics for 22 years. She was senior coach of the Belarusian National Team for the last 6 years. After the appointment, Barkalava shared her impressions in the interview given to the press service of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation. I was in the hall where the National Team is training. I met gymnasts,” Barkalava said. “There are all conditions for the development of gymnastics here. It is a very beautiful gym. I am very grateful for the trust shown to me and I will do my best to ensure that Azerbaijani women’s artistic gymnasts will have a competitive edge at the European and World arenas.

Webinar on Gymnastics for All discipline kicks off in Azerbaijan

10 Dec 2020 in 16:00 An informational webinar on the gymnastic discipline ‘Gymnastics for All’ organized by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF), kicked off on December 9, according to the AGF website. Among the participants of the webinar are representatives of almost all cities and districts of Azerbaijan - these are Gakh, Zagatala, Balakan, Gusar, Shirvan, Ganja, Lankaran, Mingachevir, Nakhchivan and others. The webinar is conducted by Head Coach of the ‘Gymnastics for All’ national team Mariana Vasileva and Coach Ruslan Eyvazov. The purpose of the webinar is to provide participants with general information about the ‘Gymnastics for All’ discipline, the main competitions and events held in this area (World Gymnastrade, ‘WorldGymforLifeChallenge’, ‘EUROGYM’, ‘EuropeanGymforLifeChallenge’, ‘Goldenage’ festivals), inform about age groups discipline, as well as discuss the possibilities of developing this species in the country.
