The first day of the 16th FIG Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships started at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.
Before the start of the competition, the participating countries had been presented.
During the first day of the World Cup, qualifying competitions will be held in the women s individual program, in the trio and in the aero step program.
One of the most large-scale competitions to be organized by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation in 2021 is the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships.
This event hosted by Azerbaijan for the first time will be organized on May 27-29. Some 171 athletes from 22 countries will take part in the event.

The first place at the World Aerobic Gymnastics Age Group Competitions in Baku in the individual program for men (age category 15-17) was taken by the representative of Russia Danila Kudinov with a score of 20.350 points.
In second place is Kirill Klimov, who also represents Russia (20.250 points), in third place is an athlete from Romania Leonard Manta (20.200 points).
On Sunday, May 23, the final day of the World Age Group Competition in Aerobic Gymnastics is being held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.
On the final day, gymnasts in the age categories 12-14 and 15-17 will perform in the finals of the individual program, in mixed pairs, trios, groups and aerodance.

An awards ceremony was held for the winners and prize-winners of the Aerobic Gymnastics World Age Group Competition in the individual program among women (in the age category of 12-14 years old) and athletes performing as part of a trio (15-17 years old) at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on May 23, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF).
Russian gymnast Elizaveta Rudneva ranked first, another Russian gymnast Leisan Kupershmit ranked second while Azerbaijani gymnast Maryam Topchubashova ranked third in the individual program among women.
Among the trios, gymnasts from Russia won gold, a trio from Romania won a silver medal while athletes from Hungary won a bronze medal.

Baku to host Aerobic Gymnastics World Age Group Competitions for first time.
The Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) will hold the Aerobic Gymnastics World Age Group Competitions for the first time in May 2021, referring to the AGF website.
This event, which is the 9th edition, will take place at the National Gymnastics Arena on May 21-23.
At the Championships, the gymnasts included in the age groups of 12-14 and 15-17-year-old, will compete for the medals.
Gymnasts of both age groups will perform in the Qualifications and Finals in the programs of “Individual Women”, “Individual Men”, “Mixed Pairs”, “Trios”, and “Groups”. Moreover, 15-17-year-old gymnasts will test their strength in “Aero Dance” program.
