Image Courtesy of Atlas.  By Railroad Model Craftsman Staff Atlas Model Railroad Co. Inc. has announced that it is releasing a new run of its HO scale General Electric U30C locomotive that will feature all-new tooling.  While Atlas has offered Phase II and Phase III U30C models before, this run will represent a Phase 1 version of the locomotive, of which there were 24 built.  The first U30Cs were built with a radiator design outwardly similar to U28Cs, featuring a tall rectangular section sitting at the peak of the radiator section.  Phase I U30Cs were built between November 1966 and July 1967, with final U30C production concluding in October of 1976.
