According to the Atlantic City Police Department, just after 9:15 Christmas Day night, officers responded to the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of a fight. As officers were responding, they received a ShotSpotter alert. Once on scene, cops found a 17-year-old man from Vineland suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Police say an investigation by detectives led to two suspects being identified. A flyer was spread department-wide and within four hours both males, one 15-year-old and the other 16, were in custody; both were located in the same block as the shooting.
