The Council said that it would serve as a centre where surplus products could be aggregated, stored and transported in suitable condition to any port of shipment. Mr Peter Onokpasa, Head/Trade Promotion Advisor (TPA) of the NEPC, Asaba Export Assistance Office, disclosed this on Wednesday at the Edo/Delta Exporters Group and all Exporters stakeholders’ meeting.

By Deborah Coker Benin, April 9, 2021 The Atlantique Marine Engineering Services (AMES), promoters of the AMES-Edo Inland Container Dry Port, has disclosed that it projected a standard gauge rail for the port. Dr Charles Akhigbe, MD/CEO of AMES, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Benin, that the rail line was significant to the project meant for transport infrastructure. He explained that the Federal Government had already paid for the feasibility plan for the rail and the projection was made for standard gauge rail. He also disclosed that the Edo Government had approved the reconstruction of the road leading to the dry port while a rail connection from Agbor in Delta State was also in the offing.

Dr Charles Akhigbe, MD/CEO AMES-Edo Inland Container Dry Port disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Benin on Thursday. Akhigbe said the port has a Domestic Export Warehouse (DEW) that served as a one-stop shop for exporters and business operators. “We are entering into contracts with Chambers of Commerce, Manufacturer Associations as well as individuals to start exportation of non-Oil products from Edo via the inland dry port.
