It’s ratings casts and dogs! Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl lapped up 2.1 million total viewers on Sunday, when Hallmark’s Kitten Bowl attracted far fewer human eyeballs.
Last year, Puppy Bowl XVI adopted 1.852 million viewers, exactly 2,000 fewer audience members than Puppy Bowl XV. Puppy Bowl XV had dropped 39% from its own predecessor. This year’s Puppy Bowl reversed two straight years of declines.

The winners of the 2021 Puppy Bowl is Team Ruff. Team Ruff, who handsomely beat Team Fluff, now has possession of the much coveted Lombarky Trophy . Team Ruff was surprisingly the underdogs after consecutive victories from opponents in previous battles in previous years.
All 70 pooches competing this year are adoptable rescues. The biggest highlight of the game came early when Team Ruff s ONE HIGHLIGHT WAS Team Ruff’s Archer STARTED THE GAME with a penalty for “illegal use of the goal posts” BY ripping off the goal post of the opposing team.
