Govt Discussing Plan To Create Power Islanding Systems In Several Cities To Protect The Electricity Infra Against cyberattacks

Credit: Getty/AFP) Union Minister for Power RK Singh has said that the government is discussing a plan to create power islanding systems in several cities to protect the electricity infrastructure from potential cyberattacks, reports Livemint. Singh told the lawmakers in the Parliament that that the cities being considered for the establishment of such systems include Bengaluru and Jamnagar. While the former is a state capital and a hub of technology companies and startups in the country, the latter is home to two of India s largest oil refineries. Singh also shared that the existing systems in Delhi and Mumbai are also being revamped.

BHEL bags Rs1,405-cr order for 12 steam generators

1094 BHEL has won a major order for the supply of 12 steam generators from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL). Valued at Rs 1,405 crore, the order has been won under NPCIL s fleet mode procurement programme and mandates supply of 12 steam generators for India s highest rated indigenously-developed 700 MWe pressurised heavy water reactors to be set up at four different locations in the country. SJVN inks pact with IBN for 679 MW hydroelectric project An MoU has been signed for the development of 679 MW Lower Arun 3 HEP between SJVN & Investment Board of Nepal (IBN) in Kathmandu. The MoU was signed by Nand Lal Sharma, CMD, SJVN, and Sushil Bhatta, CEO, IBN, in the presence of Nepal Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel.
