BLK-Max Hospital to install in-house oxygen generator

New Delhi, May 2 : In a bid to fight the current crisis of Coronavirus-induced oxygen shortage, BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital on Sunday announced that it will install an oxygen generator and a high-pressure cylinder filling system that was donated by the France government.
The Oxygen Generator manufactured by NOVAIR Medical and cylinder filling system manufactured by Oxyplus Technologies has a total capacity of generating 22 cubic metre of oxygen every hour. It will be installed and commissioned at the hospitals over the next 72 hours.

Battling an acute shortage of oxygen, some hospitals in Delhi on Sunday sent out desperate SOS calls to authorities to replenish their dwindling stocks, with one healthcare facility even requesting the government to shift out its patients.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal has been admitted to Max Super Speciality Hospital in Saket on Friday. Sunita Kejriwal tested positive for the COVID-19 virus on April 20 and was being treated in home isolation.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Somnath Bharti took to Twitter to share the news. The Delhi CM also isolated himself at his home after his wife was diagnosed with COVID-19.

Some claimed that while the Delhi Corona app showed that beds are available in certain hospitals in the city, the situation on the ground is different. Hospitals are not admitting patients as they have run out of beds, they said.
