A dog working with search and rescue personnel barks to alert them after sniffing a spot atop the rubble at the Champlain Towers South condo building, where scores of people remain missing almost a week after it partially collapsed June 30 in Surfside, Fla.
How to help
The North Side-based Brother s Brother Foundation has started an emergency fund for the victims of the Chaplain Towers condominium tragedy in Surfside, Fla.
The 63-year-old Pittsburgh nonprofit guarantees that 100% of the money donated to the fund will go to those in need and not be spent on any overhead. BBF and its on-the-ground partner in Florida, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, are donating staff time and covering all administrative costs related to the effort.
