BC police investigating after finding suspicious device in the grass
Members of the Victoria Police Department are investigating after finding a strange device on Christmas Day.
According to police, a resident reported seeing something in the grass between Dallas Road and Menzies Street. The resident told officers the device looked like a pipe with a fuse sticking out of it.
Upon arrival, members found the device where it was determined to be suspicious.
Officers in attendance made sure to clear the area while members of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team disposed of the device.
The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released when it is known.
Officers determined the device was suspicious and set up containment measures around it. Members of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team applied a charge to the device, destroying it.
