The man was taken into custody after police arrived. Officers identified the man and discovered he faces charges for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose stemming from a December 2020 incident in which he allegedly threatened two strangers with a knife. He also faces pending charges for break and entering as well as charges for breaching court-ordered conditions. Given the charges, and previous criminal convictions for serious crimes, including sexual offences and assault, the man was held in custody pending a court appearance. VICTORIA Saanich police are on the lookout for a woman who allegedly told students that COVID-19 was a hoax and spat at a school staff member, according to Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers. The unmasked woman reportedly walked onto school property on May 14 and told children that the pandemic was fake. According to Crime Stoppers, the woman was eventually confronted by a school staff member, at which point the woman became verbally aggressive and allegedly spat at the worker s face.
