Ravi Kumar is survived by his wife Gayatri and son Sai Raghav Sashank, who is a software engineer. He served the poor through Sai Pooja Foundation as its chairman and through Satya Prasanna Charitable Trust. CPI State assistant secretary J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy expressed grief at the passing away of Ravi Kumar saying that a good Samaritan, who had fed the poor and the needy on the streets, was no more.

‘It was constructed by occupying the space earmarked for a highway’ Officials of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) demolished a multi-storied building, under construction, which belongs to former MLA and senior TDP leader Palla Srinivasa Rao, saying it is unauthorised, at Old Gajuwaka Junction here on Sunday. ‘Heated argument’ Staff from the Town Planning wing accompanied by the police, started the demolition from 3 a.m. According to the officials, the building was constructed by occupying the space earmarked for a highway. Tension prevailed when Mr. Srinivasa Rao along with the TDP supporters reached the spot and had a heated argument with the police and other officials.

Increase COVID-19 testing, Collector directs officials

‘Call up patients being treated in home isolation on daily basis’ District Collector V. Vinay Chand on Sunday instructed the officials of the Health Department to provide counselling to COVID-19 patients apart from providing regular treatment. He also asked them to increase testing in the district. He organised a meeting with the nodal officers and health officials. “Once a person tests positive, the officials should inform him on phone. They should also enquire about his health condition and take a call whether he/she should be shifted to hospital/COVID-19 care centre or kept in home isolation,” he said. Mr. Vinay Chand said that the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) officials should make a note of the cases in the city, while Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Nagarjuna Sagar should have details of patients in rural areas of the district.

GVMC Demolishes TDP Leader Palla Srinivas s Building

Apr 25, 2021, 13:02 IST VISAKHAPATNAM: As part of a demolition drive of illegal constructions in the city, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) officials demolished a building belonging to former Gajuwaka TDP MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao on Saturday. The semi-built structure was located at the old Gajuwaka area in Visakhapatnam. GVMC officials said the building was constructed in violation of municipal regulations, as it had no proper setbacks to the road. GVMC officials said they had also issued notices to the owner and the demolition was conducted under heavy Police security, to prevent any untoward incidents. This was taken up after an article titled Palla Bhudaham over the illegal activities related to land and buildings by the TDP Visakhapatnam Parliamentary constituency president and former MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao was published in Sakshi a Telugu vernacular paper on Thursday.
