Pa. court upholds life prison sentence for murder of Harrisburg NAACP president’s daughter

A Dauphin County man convicted of killing the daughter of the Greater Harrisburg Area Chapter of the NAACP during a botched home invasion robbery has failed to convince a state appeals court that his life prison sentence isn’t deserved.
In upholding that punishment, and the second-degree murder conviction tied to it, the Superior Court panel rejected Jaliel Rodriguez’s argument that prosecutors didn’t prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he fatally shot 26-year-old Patrice Allen in her Harrisburg home in September 2017.
